Clutter City Autumn 2015

Untitled

Excuse the rubbish photo, I only took a few quick blurry ones. Yesterday was the autumn Clutter City, my first one alone and although I felt pretty anxious and although my wheeley bag fell over on the bus and although I got rained on, it ended up good. It felt a little slower than others I've been to but I think we can blame the rain for that and even so it did get pretty busy at times and I ended up doing really well so thank you to anyone who bought something or even just said something nice. Also thank you to anyone that looks at my table and just laughs or says aw, I take it as a compliment. What other reactions would I want?

I got myself home and died a little bit. Will had also been super busy with doing a miniature painting workshop with a dollhouse and miniatures group he's worked with the past few years (when he arrived they had set up a little display of the paintings they'd done before and got him a little artist bear and it's just the sweetest) so Will went and bought some ready meals (which is so so rare for us, special treat) and we watched Aristocats and had a big sleep. Today I'm going to just pootle about tidying up and getting organised again before marching onward with everything else on my list. I hope you're having a good weekend too ^_^

247 - 253 // 365 2015

247/365 // 2015

Day 247 - I love watercolour.

  248/365 // 2015

Day 248 - A whole year since his first tattoo, it's gone so fast but also seems like something he's always done. (He hasn't really technically done a whole year of tattoos, there was a no tattoo gap in the middle while they moved studios but a year since his first is still worthy of shiny stars)

249/365 // 2015

Day 249 - About to do inking with a tiny tiny brush. Apparently my super power is however small the brush I can do chunky lines. The good thing about brush inking is that it looks lovely anyway plus, no one knows what I was aiming for they just see the result. One day I'll master the brush.

250/365 // 2015

Day 250 - Making, making, making for Clutter City.

251/365 // 2015

Day 251 - A brand new zine that will be coming along to the market. I'll get it listed online too.

252/365 // 2015

Day 252 - More market prep. I really need some sort of paper trimmer. Ruler and knife is slooooow.

253/365 // 2015

Day 253 - More market prep. One last new thing I sorted last night and today I need to tag and pack and all that jazz and then tomorrow hopefully all this prep will turn into something awesome.

Bernard Bunny

Because there can't be enough Bernard gifs in the world and I'm in the midst of a million half finished projects trying to be ready for markets and general re-stocking and new things and custom orders and then that thing what happens towards the end of the year. Much busy basically. I'm feeling all productive and stuff which is quite nice. I hope you enjoy manic gif version Bernard. It's actually calmer than watching real life Bernard.

By the way, that is a free local magazine thing that came through the door, not some sort of football thing I'd got for myself. Just thought I'd clear that up. Football, ugh.

240 - 246 // 365 2015

240/365 // 2015

Day 240 - I got a pack of star stickers for 10p at the supermarket and want to cover everything in them.

  241/365 // 2015

Day 241 - I designed some patterns for DMC and they were kind enough to send me some yarn samples. They feel so good.

242/365 // 2015

Day 242 - The night before this photo my eye got real angry for no apparent reason and although it calmed down was still pretty angry all the next day. I'm sure you wanted to see it. It's been a grey week, so lovely photos are hard.

243/365 // 2015

Day 243 - I'd planned to stay in all day and work anyway but then the rain made me feel cooped up so I took a break and sat on the doorstep with comics and tea. Pictured is Fun Home by Alison Bechdel.

244/365 // 2015

Day 244 - Our cute mossy path.

245/365 // 2015

Day 245 - These sketchbooks came in a two pack and were cheap and are lovely (to touch anyway, I haven't used them yet) and I was excited to find them in my local stationers.

246/365 // 2015

Day 246 - "LET ME OUT WOMAN!"

September Stalls

I'll be out and about selling my wares two weekends this month and I'm very excited about them both. On the 12th Clutter City is back! There hasn't been one since Christmas and I've missed it. Will is teaching a workshop that day so it'll be my first one alone and I apologise in advance for my extra awkwardness but come, it should be fun if a little anxiety inducing. Plus it's free and there's cake and and a bar so no excuses.
Then, the next weekend, on the 19th I'll have a table at the UEA for the Norfolk Brawds bout which as you may know I rather enjoyed last time. I had to miss one in August so I'm even more eager to be able to attend this one. You can get tickets here.

I'm off to work on my mega to do list so I have lots of stock, including new things, for both. Yay ^_^

Share Stuff ~ Sept '15

I always think about doing some sort of sharing things post on this here blog because I like to see what other people are looking at so why not join in. Sharing awesome things is awesome and important I think. Don't be fooled by the date in the title though, I doubt it'll be regular, they'll be here and there depending on how often I actually look at new stuff because I'm a creature of habit.

Anyway...

I've never really used YouTube before other than for music I can't afford yet or looking up the occasional tutorial but recently I've actually started subscribing to channels and love it. I'm actually thinking about getting a video camera and doing something or other on there myself but that's way off in the future. When I find something new I feel like I have to catch up on everything so the two channels I've been creepily watching as much as possible lately are Frannerd and TheTanZelShow. I found out about TheTanZelShow because Will knows Tania and Hazel, so I had amazing insider info and I checked out Fran after this post on Raisin Heart. It turned out I was actually already following Fran on Instagram (love love love her illustrations) but didn't know about her YouTube. Fran appears to have a similar geeky love for paper as me and I've always loved watching people play videogames so these two channels were made for me.

Haha, the fact they're both stills with pulling faces was an awesome coincidence.

Talking of my creepy watching of old videos, in a TanZelShow video the band Creature Feature were mentioned so I checked them out and I love it. Anything that Halloween themed will win me over instantly. I'm especially fond of A Gorey Demise.

I need to learn Japanese because they have too many things I want to understand better. Currently it's Ladybeard. A wrestler/metal singer/pin-up in kawaii drag, or something. I'm not sure, google translating Japanese is the worst but I have fallen in love anyway, how could you not?

I'd only watched that on my phone before which for some reason doesn't do subtitles but having the English subtitles makes it even better.

This patch from Dany Reede on Etsy is awesome. I think this comes pretty high on my list of favourite film quotes so it's perfect.

I was browsing Instagram the other day and came across @herorats and oh my god wow. They train rats to detect landmines and TB! Plus look how cute they are! Their website is here.

Point me towards things you like and/or sharing posts you've done. Expand my mind.
