norwich games festival

we went on the first day to have a look at the traders and were greeted by our boy Orlok and also a table full of self-published rpg books and i wish i had more money right now but i did take note of the seller.

here's what we did get. Will got some trading cards, i got Puyo Pop Fever for the ds (i'd really like to find the booklet to go with it) and together we got a couple of quests from The Wayward Adventurers Guild. what i was really after though was a streetpass and when i saw that little green light, you have no idea. i was so excited.

and then it turned out to be 2! incredible.

my Kirby puzzle is complete now :) i went back a couple of times during the week just to lurk a bit and saw these amazing hand painted displays. i didn't play the games or talk to anyone because i'm too anxious but i loved these displays so much.

i love it when people make things <3

birthday boys

Peter Cushing's birthday is 26th May and i love him so i wanted to make him a cake. i decided on a fruit loaf and then added icing and Percy Pig sprinkles. i think you could make Peter any cake and he'd have politely told you how lovely it was.

and then 27th May is Vincent Price's and Christopher Lee's birthdays. imagine them all being so close together, perfect. i went with chocolate fairy cakes with coffee icing and halloween sprinkles for these guys. i'd be scared to present Christopher Lee with anything and i think Vincent would do that thing when you get sassed by someone but you're glad to have been sassed.

april vlog

Korn/The Cure unplugged

i didn't know this existed and it just popped up and oh my god.

it's perfect. that first transition between the songs! ah! i actually welled up a little bit the first time i watched this. i'm kind of glad i didn't know about it because i wouldn't have appreciated it this much when i was younger. Jonathan Davis was a very big deal to me when i was a teenager and Robert Smith is just perfection and i'm glad this exists.

♡♡♡

his little grin at the end, he's so happy *cries*

Panxworth

after a tough day i asked Will to take me out on the bike to air me out and while we were riding there was a tower in the distance so obviously Will headed for it.

it's so strange, from some angles it doesn't even look like a ruin but then you go in and there should be a whole church at the back and there's just nothing. it was very cool and the graveyard was lovely, lots of flowers and butterflies. the whole area was so quiet and stumbling across something like this always feels a bit magic.

there were pigeons in the tower and blue tits nesting between the flints. a perfect evening, exactly what i needed.

šŸ–¤Zak and JonathanšŸ–¤

when they announced this episode last year some time i was so excited, i've been waiting for it to turn up ever since. so much fun. i was obsessed with Korn when i was a teenager and Ghost Adventures is just so fun, spooky and silly. perfect combo for me.

i had a good time, they did not disappoint <3

miscellaneous april

hate to end a post on a downer but i'm going to. this was my first time at Odeon since they refurbished and i'm so disapppointed. no posters?! while i wait for Will to pee i want to walk the length of the cinema and look at the posters for everything that's coming out soon i don't want to look at screens that are all playing the same trailer but they don't all start at the same time so it's all slightly out of sync and look how sad and boring it looks, the future is rubbish :(

sketchbook snippets

a couple of bits from my sketchbook in April. every page is scanned and shared here.

me in april

the only photos i took of myself in April
i'd like to try harder in May, taking photos of myself is a constant thing i say i want to do more of and keep failing at actually doing

whitwell ~ steam sunday

a few photos from steam sunday at Whitwell. pretty sure i've never been on a steam train before, it was loud and stinky and wobbly and i liked it.

i'm a big fan of their honesty box bookshop, look at how perfect it is.

one simply appreciated one purchased

obsessed with these lamps

and an evergreen sign, because apparently we never learn anything

Danse Macabre 1922

just some stills from the 1922 short film Danse Macabre. this animated title sequence is delightful.

Death doing their little jig <3
for future knowledge because i would completely assume i went down a Danse Macabre rabbit hole right now because i'm in a heavy Ghost phase but actually i saw a still from this scene on instagram and just thought it looked so cool and the film is only 8 minutes why not watch it right now rather than adding it to a list and never watching it so i did and then i read some relevant wikipedia pages and had a nice time.
i love all the double exposure used in this film and a guy in a skeleton suit will always please me
