some 2025 stats

letterboxd // when i say i like old films and people think i mean the 80's

last.fm // i listened to so much Skeleta (and all Ghost) in the spring that the other stats are too predictable to show but i'd like to special mention dungeon synth as a genre that was big this year and AFI would maybe be higher if i could include listening to cd's on our PS3 (and as always i wish i could include stats from youtube on the tv)

storygraph // they took away my mood pie chart and i'll never forgive them

june was quiet i guess

june started with going in there and having an interview

so Will took me on a big ol bike ride to blast all my excess energy/stink brain away. the sea heals.

a couple days later i got offered a role and then June was a bit of a quiet, waiting kind of month.

it wasn't a bad month, just, nothing else really happened.

although we did get the biggest storm i've ever seen. the only rain that normally collects in there is a couple cm in the gold pot.

dvd menu appreciation. love that the bat icon looks like a pasta shape. started playing Puyo Pop Fever my first go at Puyo Pop.

marmalade hoverfly

this puzzle is now on my studio wall. dvd menu 2, not quite as good as dvd menu 1 but has it's own merits.

lavender to dry and hollyhock that i should really move into bigger pots.

may leftovers

just some photos from May that i wanted to post but didn't have their own... post.

a beautiful book that we didn't buy from the tesco charity shelf // i watched a midsummer night's dream (1999) on a whim, didn't even know it existed and honestly haven't stopped thinking about it.

i like colourful shit and spooky shit :)

juxtaposition 彡☆

someone dug a hole in my onion box, no damage to the onions though // sorting the zines i've made

(and absolutely not questioning if i've made "enough" of them...)

we had such little rain any rain was a photo worthy event

i simply needed to document how good my quite fresh hair colour and this shirt looked together

squigs are gay // this guy was just the exact same colour as that leaf, amazing

birthday boys

Peter Cushing's birthday is 26th May and i love him so i wanted to make him a cake. i decided on a fruit loaf and then added icing and Percy Pig sprinkles. i think you could make Peter any cake and he'd have politely told you how lovely it was.

and then 27th May is Vincent Price's and Christopher Lee's birthdays. imagine them all being so close together, perfect. i went with chocolate fairy cakes with coffee icing and halloween sprinkles for these guys. i'd be scared to present Christopher Lee with anything and i think Vincent would do that thing when you get sassed by someone but you're glad to have been sassed.

Korn/The Cure unplugged

i didn't know this existed and it just popped up and oh my god.

it's perfect. that first transition between the songs! ah! i actually welled up a little bit the first time i watched this. i'm kind of glad i didn't know about it because i wouldn't have appreciated it this much when i was younger. Jonathan Davis was a very big deal to me when i was a teenager and Robert Smith is just perfection and i'm glad this exists.

♡♡♡

his little grin at the end, he's so happy *cries*

Danse Macabre 1922

just some stills from the 1922 short film Danse Macabre. this animated title sequence is delightful.

Death doing their little jig <3
for future knowledge because i would completely assume i went down a Danse Macabre rabbit hole right now because i'm in a heavy Ghost phase but actually i saw a still from this scene on instagram and just thought it looked so cool and the film is only 8 minutes why not watch it right now rather than adding it to a list and never watching it so i did and then i read some relevant wikipedia pages and had a nice time.
i love all the double exposure used in this film and a guy in a skeleton suit will always please me

lachryma

i'm so excited for new Ghost. i really like Satanized and that reveal of Papa V Perpetua and the ghouls at the end, *chefs kiss* they looked so good. maybe you think visuals don't matter and it should just be about the music. you're incorrect. sorry. anyway, Lachryma, these sets are beautiful. love that cut out moon and building silhouette with the lit up window and the iron fence and the wallpaper and the way the colours in that room feel so thick and the flickering light so that it looks sort of like early cinema frame rates. so. good.

the green to blue to red was tasty. love me a coloured light filter, never gets old, always looks good. also his different masks, beautiful.

V is so creepy! i love it! look at his little snarly mouth. so good.

i enjoy that there was regular gloves, long boney fingers and then full bat wings.

while we're here can we have a moment of appreciaton for the well and that he just stands on it for a bit. why are wells spooky and cool? i don't know but they are and it fits the scenery so well and i love it.

the heavy rgb lights, very cool, these flashes where the light is much whiter and it's a totally different look, also very cool. that purple with the house on the left, what other ways of saying "chefs kiss" or "so good" are there?
i'd love a really good look at the ghoul's outfits. this ruching on their jackets that looks like a spine. yes please.
this harness isn't just fashion/holding on the wings, right? he's going to fly around a stage with his sparkly little bat wings, right?!

how many diamantes were used in this video? the correct amount i think.

i do think the visuals imply a heavier song than we got BUT i don't really care lol. i think the discussions around whether Ghost are metal or not and wanting more metal than pop and yadda yadda yadda are kind of boring for the most part. people make what they want to make and you either like it or not. *shrugs* basically i'm quite excited. i like the song, i like the sets, i like the costumes, i like what we've seen of the characters so far. lovely.
