mike came down for the weekend but he's gone now and took his huge telly back with him which i feel isn't really fair. we went to stanborough park and i took some photo's while the boys went in the stream but i took some of my photos on will's camera and will's not here so you'll have to wait for that.

this one is copied from jamie hewlett but the bottom 2 i did at work so they technically came out of my head. but the purple one is really just an out of my head version of the copied tank girl at the top.

this one i'm especially proud of just because i did it standing up with nothing to lean on in the almost dark waiting for screens to come out or go in.

i went for a walk today. ain't it pretty? yes, yes it is.
i also made a banana bread and some banana bread fairy cakes, seeing as i had loads of brown bananas but only one loaf tin. they smell really good. deciding whether to ice the cakes or not...

£5 steak, chips and peas from the red lion = good dinner first time i've ever made a chocolate sponge and had to guess at how much cocoa powder to put in but it turned out good. and the icing had jack daniels in it.

the first sewing ever on my machine that i got for my birthday from mum and dad. i love it, it's red.

the second thing i did on my machine, i made a pocket. then i sewed 'will' onto it. he was well chuffed.

my birthday

for my birthday will and i went to london to the V&A because i have never been but it seems like the sort of place i would like. and i did like it. we didn't see half of what's there because we only spent the morning there and then went to camden in the afternoon but i'm definately going back soon for the whole day and with my slr. most of the pictures i took were either shaky or the cases are far too shiny but i got a few that i really liked. i'm going to put up the better ones on my flickr so you can go there if you want to see them bigger.

overall, i had an awesome day. didn't take any photos in camden because i was starting to get a bit dehydrated but the stables are looking awesome. i can't wait till they all have sellers in and it's finished properly.

the last month

spent the last weekend of june trying to get everything out of old house into new flat and everytime we turned round there was something else to take that we'd forgotten but eventually we got everything out. and it has taken till yesterday for us to get connected to the internet, i don't understand how people (including a younger me) coped without it.

this is the last photo i took at old house. as rubbishy as old house was i think this is a pretty good door knocker.


this is what it looked like when we got into new flat. it's a lot more sorted now but still not quite right so an after photo to go with this before will have to wait. even though i haven't quite found a home for everything yet new flat is awesome. i love it.
we have a little patio with cute green chairs and a pretty little table that's screaming for some sort of outside decoration. suggestions on a postcard...
it's been weeded since this photo so it looks a bit less overgrown round the edges. our garden is communal but i've not seen anyone in it except when the gardener comes and it's quite lovely. for some reason we're not allowed to hang washing outside or on display in the windows...ok


we saw a baby crow get fed and then fly off with the feeding parent. it was all fluffy and cute and made one hell of a noise



dad took me to ikea to buy a desk and, after some trying, we actually managed to get it in the car along with a set of drawers, but i had to sit in the back to make it fit so i spent some time taking phone pictures.


the bath in new flat doesn't have a scummy ring round the plug end that can't be scrubbed away like old house so grack got to have a bath and he loved it

we have a massive dining table that's completely stupid for the size of the flat that has 4 chairs with it, all 4 of which seem to have been abused. everytime i lean back to think or rest my back from my bad posture the whole chair leans back too and i think i'm going to fall over. rubbish. need new chairs, and preferably a new, smaller table too.


this is what i made my grandad for a birthday card. i'm quite fond of it.

anyway i'm going to stop now and think about what i'm going to do on my birthday. and probably do a drawing too. if i can rip myself away from the internet, i've missed it so much. i'm so sad.

rant

went to test run the directors chair film with will this morning which is vicky cristina barcelona. i wanted to see it anyway but i was pleasantly surprised by just how good it was. i really enjoyed it, not really sure what made it so good. the narration was quite odd (a good point) and penelope cruz was mental (another good point).
conclusion?

i am in a horror of a mood. it's too hot today, everyone i asked about jobs said they do it online now so i came home rather than carrying on like i should have and looked on the internet for jobs and there are none. which means i have to go out with cv's again which is not fun. i'm so screwed if i don't get something soon.

i'm trying to sort some stuff on my website but that's being rubbish aswell. it's not adding a page. and it's doing it in the worst way possible. if a computer tells you somethings not working then fine, annoying but at least you know the computer is aware of you trying to do something. everytime i click 'add new page' it just directs me back to the main page and there is no new page and no reasoning for why this has happened.

trying to just think about the new flat but i'm not sure if will is going to want me in it at this rate. and i say his flat because i'm out of work in a week and will therefore be living off will if he manages to afford rent and everything else on his own.

i'm also hungry and i have no idea what to do for dinner.

and i ordered some plain canvas bags off ebay so i could make them pretty and sell them but they haven't turned up yet so i can't even distract myself with that and trick myself into thinking that it would make me enough money to not worry for a month or so about there not being any jobs.(even though in reality i probably won't sell any for ages)

rubbish

i'm also annoyed at packing. i don't have enough space in my room for all my stuff as it is. where am i supposed to keep the boxes full of stuff that has come out of the drawers? where?! exactly, there is no where for the boxes to go.

i wish something magic would happen that meant money wasn't a worry. i'm not being selfish either, all i want is enough for rent, bills, food, etc and a bit left over for art stuff. hence the worry. i wouldn't be complaining if i was poor like how people are 'poor' because they can't afford another outfit for another meal out followed by another night out drinking followed by another taxi home as a goodbye event ready for their departure on another holiday. just want enough that i don't end up evicted or in horrible debt. please?

anyway i'm going to stop whinging. i have an awesome flat to look forward to with my awesome will and it's awesomely close to the train station (because i'm being postive now and i will be able to afford to go to london just for fun soon). and just in general i am rather lucky even if right now is hugely daunting and crappy. and the supersizers eat the eighties is on tonight and that can only be good.


and the grades were released for semester b and i passed! i'm sticking with my 'i don't care what i get so long as i passed' by not telling anyone my grades because i really don't care. i have a degree! i have given myself a pat on the back. will passed everything too. i am proud of him. well done will.

don't know if it comes across very well but as an overview: i need a job. i haven't found a job. i'm panicking about money.

phoned the house agents today and apparently all there is to do now is on the day we are moving (which i'm not going to tell you for obvious reasons) we just have to go down and pay our deposits and pick up the keys. i thought it'd be more complicated than that. hopefully it'll turn out that it's actually as easy as it seems.



made a tonne of lasagne yesterday ready for when will came home from work in an attempt at being housewifey and then to survive off for the rest of the week. lasagne is quite difficult in how many steps there are, maybe next time i'll be a bit more organised in advance of starting. looked pretty good and was pretty tasty though, if i do say so myself.

then william took me to see drag me to hell. it was so good. the old school logos at the start, when the gypsys teeth fell out and was gumming on her chin, "i beat you, you old bitch". a good mix of scary and funny. and a good moral tale of someone getting as they deserved i think. and also a good amount of popcorn and pepsi courtesy of will. gotta love cinema food.

this tropical moth as i would describe it was waiting for me in the bathroom the other day. twas really yellow and then it flew at me so i had will catch it. doesn't look like it belongs in hatfield to me, but then, i know nothing about moths.

i saw this on flickr and was amazed. i've seen some really poor photoshop when it comes to twilight and some that's not so bad but still just plain wrong (seriously, photoshopping robert pattinsons head onto a models body is actually kind of an insult, nice way to show your love to him...) but this is actually amazing. the more i look at it the more i see how it was put together but at a first look i reckon it's pretty believable.
still quite harsh though considering she apparently has a boyfriend who isn't pictured here.



on the wall just outside the illustration part of the degree show someone started a trend of drawing on the wall and left a load of pens so anyone that came could add if they wanted to. would have been a good idea if it hadn't turned into playground graffiti, people just started drawing crude willies all over the place.
there is, however, a part of the wall that made me laugh. for some reason at some point of the degree laura did a drawing of will with a tophat on and proceeded to add him into a load of her projects just by adding a tophat every now and then, and his signature long hair, as seen added to this dinosaur. genius. especially considering he reckons he's never worn a tophat in his life.

going to go try and ebay myself some canvas bags in the hope of making them pretty and selling them on. wish me luck...or even better, keep an out on my website and buy one when they appear.

uh degree show

well the show is nearly over (just monday left) and i think it's gone quite well. we were in yesterday to do our 'guarding' shift and none of our work has fallen down or started to peel off the mount board and will only had 2 business cards left and at least half of mine were gone and i had the pleasure of seeing some people actually take some. the private view on tuesday was really busy and the illustration room was mentally hot. everyone had a sweaty face which made it less enjoyable, we actually left an hour early because it got a bit too much. on the wednesday will's mum and nige came down to see it and we got frankie and bennie's for lunch before hand. then on thursday my mum and dad came to see it and we got our first chance to have a proper look at all the other subjects work aswell as our own. there's some really good stuff about this year but equally some quite poor stuff. then they took us to the red lion for dinner which was really nice and the weather held out so we could sit outside which was good. then on saturday nikki and mark came down and we did our guard shift while they wandered around everything else and then they took us out for dinner to the red lion too. good week for free fancy food! i received a letter saying that i owe the uni a load of money but they neglected to tell me what it was for. do they actually expect me to just hand it over without knowing what i've apparently not paid for? i think not.
me and will went to see coraline 3d this afternoon. it was so good. loved it. also loved the pick n mix and ice blast we treated ourselves to. yummy. feel like i need to balance it out with something healthy now though.
bought elle today and got a rather nice free bag. actually quite a decent usable one too. just need to find something to cover up the i <3 urban outfitters logo that's at the bottom.
this is my lunch that will made me today, i feel it was so good it deserves to be shown off. anyway, gonna leave the internet now, the laptop feels like its about to set fire.
