Cemetery Mushrooms

Untitled Untitled

Found these mushrooms on the edge of the cemetery. Don't what they are (maybe this) but they're pretty cool.

BBQ Latte Times

Untitled Untitled Untitled

Seeing as the weather has been like it's actually summer the past few days we thought we'd have a little BBQ and Will made peanut butter iced lattes. Oh my god, yum!

There was a lot of pigeon drama going on in our garden but these two mostly kept out of it, being pretty in the sunset instead (then they weren't so pretty but I shan't talk about such things).

Our old friend Pretty Cat turned up too.

Summer Walk ~ 05/07/13

Untitled

Yesterday we went for a walk to the meadow.

Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

It's got all sorts of flowers in it at the moment which makes up for the fact that they take the cows away (because the cows would eat the flowers).

Then we decided to walk up to the cemetery to find somewhere to sit and work for a bit. We went the wrong way for a little while and ended up walking down a road that took us back to where we started but we got there eventually.

The Rosary Cemetery ~ 03/07/13

Untitled

This afternoon we decided to go on an adventure and have a wander up a dirt path Will had noticed. We had no idea where it was going to end up but figured we might see a pretty house or something. After wandering along a few roads and round a few corners we stumbled upon a cemetery. At first it looked fairly new and small but the further in we went the more we realised how big it was and how amazing it was.

Untitled Untitled Untitled

It turns out the cemetery started in 1821 and was the first non-denominational one in the country. So everyone that didn't want to be buried (or weren't welcome) in their parish churchyard could be buried here.

Untitled Untitled

There's a few information posts around the cemetery and this mausoleum was apparently built while Emanuel was still alive and he'd come sit by it to smoke his pipe and watch the world go by.

Untitled Untitled Untitled

There's so much crammed in there, I think you could wander around for hours and not see it all. I was pretty excited when we found the Colman (as in, the mustard) family plot. There's all sorts of paved paths and not paved paths and hills and different levels and overgrown bits and not overgrown bits and it's just amazing.

Untitled Untitled

I've always loved cemeteries I can't believe there's such an interesting one so close to my house that I haven't known about for the past 2 years! I look forward to going back for a really good wander around when it's not meant to be just a quick wander as a break from work and when there aren't rainclouds hovering overhead.

Also, I'm going to have to make a point of wandering up and around all the roads near me now to make sure there isn't anything else nearby we don't know about!

Week 26

176.365

Day 176 - An ongoing blanket I'm making for us out of all the tiny strands that get leftover from everything else.

177.365

Day 177 - The evening before, Will had brought me some flowers back from the meadow.

178.365

Day 178 - Another 'ah I've forgotten to take a photo' photo. Some things on my desk that I'm working on.

179.365

Day 179 - Trying to sort out my studio. Failing miserably but finding some gems.

180.365

Day 180 - So many sewing patterns. I was given them a while ago, I've made a pile of the ones I would hope to make myself one day and I'm thinking about selling the others but I really don't know if people would want them or not, is there much call for old patterns? I think I need to do some googling.

181.365

Day 181 - Instead of sorting out my studio (which is currently just more of a mess than when I started) or doing work, I started a cross stitch picture of our house. I am slow at cross stitch.

182.365

Day 182 - Pretty much the only good looking part of my studio at the moment so I'll just concentrate on this. I sorted out all the embroidery threads a while ago, putting them all on the little spool thingys then the other day I found another box with a load more threads. Now I need more spool thingys. So pretty.

Some things this week:
This plant pot has the best face.
This jumper is just too pretty.
This skirt.
This Halloween jumper.
These leather notebooks look like they feel so good.

Basically this week I wanted to be shopping.
