Sovereign House

I keep hearing about how there are various plans by various people to "develop" Anglia Square and I'll be so sad if it any of it gets taken down. It needs some care but the architecture is so cool and, in my opinion, Norwich doesn't need any more "luxury apartments" and Anglia Square doesn't need gentrifying.
I love the whole thing so much but I'm especially in love with Sovereign House at the back. I realised that I hadn't been up there in a while and it'd be one of those things where I sit at home being sad about how much I love it but never see it again so I wanted to take some photos and video of the area.

Back home, looking at what I got I definitely want to go and take more photos. See if I can get some different views and I also realised I've never been upstairs, where the cinema is, I don't even know if you can get up there anymore but I want to find out and maybe get to see it all from some different angles.

I don't know anything about architecture but I know that this is awesome and it often feels like we just blindly hate on anything built in living memory but it'd be so sad if we lost it all.

It's a different issue but I do also love graffiti. Even if it's Garfield.

This post is like a flashback to the old days of the blog when I'd walk around taking photos, I'd like to do more of it again. But I also like that the blog is turning into a manic mixture of things too (^^)

Lord Mayor's Celebrations 2017

The Lord Mayor's Celebration was at the weekend which means a parade, street performers, food and fireworks. I generally avoid going out at the weekend but if I'll get to see a giant bear then I'll make an exception. (which is why I'll be at Pride later in the month haha)






Baba Yaga and her hut were out and about terrorising children. Look at how beautiful the hut is! And Baba Yaga herself was gliding around in her mortar, it was super cool.




Those samosa were the best samosas I have ever had and I've been thinking about them ever since mmm samosas.





I was pretty achy by this point because I am a weakling but we hung around to watch the fireworks because public displays of fireworks are magic. You're meant to stand round the other side of the castle but we go where there are fewer people, that's why it kind of looks like two separate displays, a short one and a tall one lol.






On Sunday we went to see the duck race. It turned out that the tide was going in one direction and the wind in the other and they kind of cancelled each other out so it wasn't so much a race as a float about but in the end a few ducks made a break for it and there was a winner. It was fun to watch, the ducks get dropped off the bridge to start the race which was what I was most excited to see (I tried to film it so it might be in my vlog at the end of the week).





Overall it did reinforce the fact that I like to avoid weekends, I definitely had to experience one too many dickhead lads, but I had a really good time. I'm glad to live somewhere that puts on something like this each year, it's a lot of fun ^_^

I Got Older ^_^

Last week I had a birthday and it was lovely. I was oh so lucky and got many a lovely gift and I spent the day with Will in the city catching Pokemon (I got a Gloom!) and just generally chilling out.





This was such a good lunch. Those crisps are some sort of vinegar and chilli flavour vegetarian 'pork crackling' that's actually made from peas, it's sooooo good. Also see my new Pusheen bag (from Will's grandparents, thank you!) and my new Twilight mirror (from William). Told you I'd been oh so lucky, and that was just the tip of the lucky iceberg ^_^



We also got to see the touring piece The Aftermath Dislocation Principle by Jimmy Cauty which was outside The Forum for a few days. It's a shipping container with little viewing holes in the sides and inside is a miniature scene of a town after a riot. There's police radio sounds and the lights change in there like a helicopter searchlight. It was really cool. You can see some clips of it in my video.







We went up some roads we normally wouldn't and it was pretty.





Those My Little Pony hair clips were another gift from Will. I hit the My Little Pony jackpot, he found me so many bits ^_^







We had our temporary tattoos on because we're super cool.



My birthday gift to myself. She's one of my favourite ponies so I just had to get this lip balm even though it's probably awful to actually use. But I still will because I'm committed to my purchases lol.



Will decorated a cake for me and it was Gudetama!!! We can't really find any Gudetama stuff here, unless you buy it online but I love him. I was so very pleased with this cake. Look at that butt!!





The video is just random clips from the day, just like the photos but in video form with the extra perk of Will being a cow.


I had a lovely day and felt very grateful for the lovely presents I got. My parents came down at the weekend so there was more birthday to come too ^_^
