Inktober 2015 Days 1 - 11

I'm having a go at Inktober again this year. I'm putting them on twitter and instagram each day but thought I'd scan them in and post them here in a few sets too. (Although I hope your screen settings are better than this library one because wow is this making everything look awful).

Photo Dump

I was going to be sharing a wonderfully free crochet pattern this week but the day I was going to sort it all out the computer decided it couldn't connect to the internet anymore. The pattern will have to wait but I fished out an old usb stick (it still has our dissertations on it which we handed in about 6 years ago) and took some photos over to the free library internet (I love you library!) so here are some pics I like and have had floating around but hadn't shared yet. The above photo was at my parents house a while ago, that rug brings me comfort even in memory.



He's just too cute, even when he's just laying claim to stuff. He rubs his chin on everything. It's adorable. I'm in one of those phases where you go from feeling fine and positive to suddenly feeling nothing but sorry for yourself so how cute these photos make the world look and being in the library has made me feel a little better.
If you have any tips in relation to making a pc realise there actually is an ethernet cable connected then share please. I'm going crazy.

Crochet ~ Angels, Biscuits and Candy Canes for Christmas

A few months ago I was asked to design some Christmas decorations for Happy Crafting magazines Knitting and Crochet Christmas issue. It's out now and it's like a kit, you get the magazine with the patterns and also the yarn, hook and needles so you're all set to get making and the patterns in the magazine were all designed around the colours of yarn that come in the set.

 

It was challenging to come up with designs based on pre-determined colours. I'd normally design something and also choose the colours kind of at the same time, one informing the other but I think I got the hang of it and my designs turned out pretty well. Obviously if you wanted to get your own yarn and work the patterns in other colours you could do that too. My patterns are for a set of angels and also candy cane and snowflake biscuit decorations.

269 - 275 // 365 2015

Day 269 - There's a Simply Crochet Christmas collection and they re-used my purse pattern seeing as it's jazzy and would make a good gift for a friend / party accessory for yourself ^_^



Day 270 - Will is stretching his ear. An attempt at Jake was a bit preemptive, he doesn't quite fit yet but is awesome.

Day 273 - These are the only photos I took this day because I was in a slightly panicked 'gotta go to the hospital' funk the first half of the day and then a slightly crampy 'make myself feel better' KFC coma the rest of the day (on the sofa, Will was under strict NHS instructions to pamper me so he brought KFC to me ^_^). I was called in for a Colposcopy and had to have LLETZ after an abnormal smear test a couple of weeks ago. These were taken after my appointment, I'm not sure what made me take a bad toilet photo of my flushed shaky face but I had to take a picture of the organ tree to show Will. Here's a gentle reminder to go book your smear test, it's really important. I can be pompous and preachy now, because I did mine. Seriously though, do it.



Day 274 - I'm having a go at Inktober. I'll probably post them here in sets but I'm putting them up daily too if you're interested ---> @vongarratt

Comic ~ Photocopier

A four panel comic I drew for my photocopier zine on the topic of the mysteries of paper turning.
