12th Anniversary

Untitled

We had our 12th anniversary at the start of the month so took a day off and went to Yarmouth for the Sealife Centre. I love aquariums, they're a perfect mixture of interesting and relaxing. After the aquarium we went through the arcades before heading home. Here are a lot of photos and a video of aquarium clips ^_^

It wasn't this one but we got to touch a starfish! It was so cool, they felt kind of hollow but also chunky and solid.

The penguin enclosure was really cool, I loved being able to see them above and below water at the same time like that.

The dwarf crocodiles were so pretty and barely moved. We stopped to draw them. At places like this I always get a bit overwhelmed by how lucky we are to be able to see these animals at all let alone so closely.

I knew the aquarium had an octopus but I didn't think we'd get to see it seeing as they hide so well and when we first got to the tank they were no where to be seen but I found it tucked up in a corner and almost as soon as we noticed it it did some laps of the tank and stretched about and really showed off before going back up into the corner. We got super lucky ^_^

Will got me this adorable octopus key ring from the gift shop which went straight on my bag and we had chips by the sea before heading off to the arcades.

We got a bag of candy floss on the way back to the train station and also some juice to balance it all out.
It was such a nice day and we got so lucky with the weather. It felt really good to go do something and it left me feeling all relaxed and inspired and ready to be better at life lol.

11 years and some stickers

The first of May was our 11th anniversary (!) so we had a day off and ate junk. It feels like so much more than a week ago. It fell at a weird time, right in between my Grandad dying and the funeral which is happening this week. That's the main energy suck at the minute but everything has happened over the past week or so. It seems like we never get to deal with just one thing at a time, everything always happens at once. I'm not going to list out everything here and to be honest some people would have taken it all in their stride but we're anxious little socially broken hermits and things are tough for us to deal with. I look forward to it going back to my boring little hermit life with nothing going on except work and games and films and snacks for a while.

But in the middle of everything we had a nice chill day off anyway ^_^  and proved how good we are at taking selfies

Photos are weird for scale but that mixing bowl is huge, we made an obscene amount of popcorn and watched the SpongeBob film and we ate every last piece of it because we are greedy chubbers.

I've been using up some weird sticker paper (I explain it in the video) and did nothing for two days but make stickers. Hand drawn things that are usually printed always feel so magic. I love printing things too, making anything is always awesome but making something by hand is super magic. Regardless of how 'good' the drawing is on each one I could pile them up and lay them out and just touch them one by one and look at them for ages, they just make me feel good. Is this how people feel when they play with crystals and stuff? Making my own little talismans.

Will's easter cactus has opened all it's flowers! It's so pretty, we thought a cheap supermarket cactus would be dead by now, especially seeing as we had to pull a weird soggy bit out from next to the main piece but it seems to be doing really well so far. I really want more house plants, plants are magic too.

Days 112 - 120 // 365 2015

112/365 // 2015

Day 112 - My new patch/name.

113/365 // 2015

Day 113 - This little bear that hangs out in our garden makes me smile.

114/365 // 2015

Day 114 - I made Will a cake because he works real hard and deserves cake.

115/365 // 2015

Day 115 - Crochet kitty cat, part of a stock request for The Jade Tree.

116/365 // 2015

Day 116 - I'm trying my hand at yoga. I've had various very lame attempts at it in the past but I think I've fallen in love with it this time. I found Yoga with Adriene (she's great) and have been practising the Yoga for Complete Beginners. After a week I went and got myself a mat and my downward dog thanked me for it, no more slippy hands. I've been taking photos so I can see if I'm progressing (but you can't see those, ha!) and I think I already am after only two weeks. I'm really excited about moving on to crazy poses and getting super flexy strong. One step at a time though.

117/365 // 2015

Day 117 - Lightboxing some hang tags on our super dirty about to die lightbox.

118/365 // 2015

Day 118 - Having an open bag of pretzels in the kitchen has been very important to me this week.

119/365 // 2015

Day 119 - Will re-dyed my hair for me and I was very pleased about it.

120/365 // 2015

Day 120 - We celebrated our 9th anniversary by making chocolate/marshmallow popcorn and then eating chocolate/marshmallow popcorn while watching 20,000 Days on Earth and then taking a very sleepy very attractive photo of ourselves.

We Are Eight

This fool has been letting me follow him around for 8 years now.
It was quite early in our friendship that I found out if I stayed in his room long enough after class he'd feed me.
I think that was his first mistake.

I soon realised I had a good thing going and needed to claim him as my own.
I also found out that it wasn't just feeding me he was good at. He made me laugh and knew about things I wish I already knew about.

After spending almost the whole first year practically sharing his tiny tiny halls room we had to both go home for the summer. I think for sane people it would have been nice to have a bit of space, not living in a shoe box with a person for a while should have been a relief.
But it wasn't.
After that summer we moved into our shared student house with some friends and we've been inseparable ever since.

He still makes me laugh. A lot. He still tells me interesting things. Most importantly, he still feeds me.
We've changed a lot over the eight years but instead of growing apart we somehow just seem to get more and more attached to each other. I often think about how lucky I am to have found someone who gets super excited or super angry about the same things as me pretty much every time.

The confusion of posing with a blender might make him not know at all where the camera is

but at least we always have a good time.

I love you, you hairy fool.
