a video diary made from all the video diaries that didn't quite make it alone
issue 2 of You Gotta Eat exists! it's companion zine this time is Idols Gotta Eat Too.
i'd wanted to make a food zine for years and then when i finally got around to it with issue 1 it felt so discombobulated but i just wanted it done and then i've had a weird year since then and issue 2 came together a little easier but still feels a little, forced maybe? but i also feel like i know what i want this zine to be now. and i feel like i've been working on a lot of habits that will make my creative endeavours flow a bit better (fingers crossed)(it's an ongoing effort!)(that will have ups and downs, no judgement!!)
some people can plan and make all the decisions and produce something that is this fully formed version of itself straight away but i need to do things to work them out so the first two issues feel to me like they're in a pupal phase and now they've hatched and i can get on with the next one knowing what i'm doing. although i may well be here a year later with issue 3 like, uh it took ages and i got stuck on it and it feels weird lol. but right now i feel good about it :)
i enjoy this small, almost square format. i fit 3 spreads on one a4 sheet of paper which also makes it cheaper to print. and cute to hold.even if it does feel pupal stage (which doesn't mean it's bad) i still made a thing and that's always worth it.
some shop orders all laid out looking nice before, here they come, the newest items i've added to my shop...
crabby apple stickersjust some photos from May that i wanted to post but didn't have their own... post.a beautiful book that we didn't buy from the tesco charity shelf // i watched a midsummer night's dream (1999) on a whim, didn't even know it existed and honestly haven't stopped thinking about it.
i like colourful shit and spooky shit :)
☆彡 juxtaposition 彡☆someone dug a hole in my onion box, no damage to the onions though // sorting the zines i've made
(and absolutely not questioning if i've made "enough" of them...)
we had such little rain any rain was a photo worthy eventi simply needed to document how good my quite fresh hair colour and this shirt looked together
squigs are gay // this guy was just the exact same colour as that leaf, amazingwe went on the first day to have a look at the traders and were greeted by our boy Orlok and also a table full of self-published rpg books and i wish i had more money right now but i did take note of the seller.
my Kirby puzzle is complete now :) i went back a couple of times during the week just to lurk a bit and saw these amazing hand painted displays. i didn't play the games or talk to anyone because i'm too anxious but i loved these displays so much.
i love it when people make things <3
Peter Cushing's birthday is 26th May and i love him so i wanted to make him a cake. i decided on a fruit loaf and then added icing and Percy Pig sprinkles. i think you could make Peter any cake and he'd have politely told you how lovely it was.
and then 27th May is Vincent Price's and Christopher Lee's birthdays. imagine them all being so close together, perfect. i went with chocolate fairy cakes with coffee icing and halloween sprinkles for these guys. i'd be scared to present Christopher Lee with anything and i think Vincent would do that thing when you get sassed by someone but you're glad to have been sassed.
